The Faculty of Social Sciences Handbook serves as a comprehensive resource for current and prospective students pursuing undergraduate qualifications, which include the Bachelor of Arts in Social Science (BASS), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degrees. This document formally sets out the Faculty’s Special Regulations.  These must be applied subject to the provisions of the University’s Academic General Regulations. The Calendar details the degree programmes and the specific modules offered across all departments, these being Economics, Law, Political and Administrative Studies, Sociology and Social Work, and Statistics and Demography.

The programme of study requirements, course pre-requisites, and regulations outlined herein must be followed strictly by all students accepted to or transferred into the Faculty, those approved for a change of Major/Specialisation/Minor during the current Academic Year, and any student readmitted to the University after being unregistered for more than four (4)semesters. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information at the time of finalization, students are strongly advised to always refer to the most recent official calendar and to regularly check the official UNESWA website and their respective Departmental offices for critical updates, announcements, and corrections to any errors or omissions that may come to light after the publication of this Handbook.
